Mark A. Simione

As Senior Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Treasurer, Mr. Simione is responsible for all of the financial, operating and administrative activities within the corporation. He also serves as the trustee of the Noblis pension plan. Noblis is a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization working at all levels of government, in private industry and with other nonprofits in areas that are essential to our nation’s well being: national security and intelligence, transportation, healthcare, enterprise services, energy and environmental sustainability, and oceans, atmosphere and space.
Prior to Noblis, Mr. Simione was with The MITRE Corporation where he held several financial management positions. He served as the business director for two operating units. In this capacity, he was responsible for the financial operations of the two business divisions including, strategic business planning and analysis, business proposal preparation and contractual strategies, and financial statement management and analysis. Mr. Simione also served as the director of Treasury Operations for MITRE. His responsibilities included corporate financial planning and reporting, cash management, and the management of the corporation’s pension plan.
Currently, Mr. Simione serves as a member of the Endowment Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees of Merrimack College. In addition, he serves as President on the Board of Trustees of United Cerebral Palsy of D.C. and Northern Virginia. Also, Mr. Simione is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of Barker, an adoption agency in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC areas. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Washington Society of Investment Analysts, and The Association for Corporate Growth.
Mr. Simione graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance from Merrimack College and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
