| Ms. Zoepfl is an expert in business strategy applied to technical issues in a wide variety of domains including container security, biometrics, transportation, law enforcement, chemical weapon demilitarization, nuclear power, and health. She currently serves as the Director of the Identity Discovery and Management (IDM) division within the Center for National Security and Intelligence. IDM performs a variety of activities that support the identification of people, businesses and items in order to detect and prevent deception. These activities include biometrics, analytical methods support for the intelligence community, targeting of high risk cargo, and identity management support. Previously, Ms. Zoepfl led the Customs and Border Protection work program which supports many aspects of container security. She was the task manager on the Fingerprint Vendor Technology Evaluation which was one of the most comprehensive evaluations of fingerprint matching algorithms. Earlier, she led the development of multiple business case analyses for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, identifying and evaluating alternative approaches for a variety of proposed information systems. Ms. Zoepfl also supported the Department of Defense (DoD) in evaluating contracting strategies and liability issues for finding and removing unexploded ordnance.
Ms. Zoepfl received an MBA in finance and investments from George Washington University and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland and is the author or co-author of numerous scientific and popular publications.
