Enterprise Architecture

The use of Enterprise Architecture (EA) is essential for evolving systems and developing new systems that optimize their mission value. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB), through the e-Government initiatives, has stated the need for government agencies to make use of an EA framework to effectively carry out the President’s management agenda to make government services more cost effective and responsive to citizen’s needs. As a result, government agencies are currently facing business and technical challenges related to the implementation and migration to target enterprise architectures. A number of well-established enterprise architecture frameworks are currently used. The basic framework components include:
  • Business Architecture
  • Data and Information Architecture
  • Application Architecture
  • Technology and Infrastructure Architecture
  • Security Architecture
Noblis provides a best value approach to help agencies in the implementation of the EA framework that enables applications to be consistently designed, built, deployed and maintained. We accomplish this through the technical strength of our staff and their commitment to excellence in our customer service, through the use of the technical resources at our disposal, and through our management commitment to working in the public interest. Our major strengths to support this effort are based on:
  • A Long-term Relationship with the Government: Noblis has been providing technical support to government agencies for more than 40 years. Noblis has gained considerable “corporate knowledge” concerning government service operations that has proved valuable for our government work programs.
  • Capabilities and Expertise: Noblis provides experienced staff with breadth and depth of expertise, objectivity, and a specific understanding of the government agency mission, operations, business processes, architectures, computing environments, and standards.
  • Leading and Managing the Technology Change: Noblis utilizes available information and resources and best practices to evaluating new emerging technologies. We work closely with the agency’s program managers and contractors/providers and evaluate and recommend only if it is absolute necessary to incorporate new appropriate technologies into the government EA.
