Noblis Laboratories
Providing a Scientific and Technological Foundation for
Noblis’ Public Interest Work

Noblis’ projects require a solid scientific and technological foundation. Many times, this foundation is provided by staff working in laboratories to conduct a variety of activities, including feasibility testing, prototyping, performance testing, proof-of-concept demonstrations, modeling and simulation, and experimentation. These activities provide data, knowledge, and require specific laboratory facilities, as well as a general information infrastructure.

Our labs allow Noblis staff to perform a wide variety of essential activities that add depth and substance to our systems engineering support and research. Our labs also allow Noblis staff to perform hands-on tasks in order to stay ahead of and current with the state-of-the-art and industry “best practices.”

Our labs and the equipment in them are highly dynamic and change to reflect research and client needs. The labs are presented in eight groups: telecommunications, knowledge discovery, security, biometrics, geographic systems, economic analysis, domain-focused, and information infrastructure. For each lab facility, general information related to lab purpose, capabilities, recent research, demonstration capabilities, publications, and equipment is provided.

I hope that you find these Web pages useful and helpful. General questions related to Noblis laboratory facilities and technology may be addressed to me. Specific questions concerning the individual labs may be addressed to the cited lab managers.
