The Noblis Insights Panel Survey Results: ICD-10 / HIPAA 5010 Readiness
In a July 2011 survey of the Noblis Insights Panel, top healthcare executives and thought leaders were polled about their perspectives on the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and the implementation of HIPAA 5010 at their respective institutions.
When polled in 2010, the majority felt that they did not know enough about ICD-10, and what it would mean to their organization. The results of this 2011 survey show that most healthcare organizations have made little progress in preparing for ICD-10.
Insights collected from the July 2011 survey showed:
- A majority of all respondents have not developed their ICD- 10/HIPAA 5010 implementation strategy or do not know if they have done so.
- A majority of respondents from smaller healthcare systems have not completed an ICD-10 impact assessment or do not know if they have done so.
