In 2006, Noblis began a Renewable Fuels Life-Cycle Modeling Initiative in response to the widely-recognized need for a sustainable energy future constrained by environmental and economic realities. As a federally-chartered nonprofit Corporation working in the public interest, Noblis invested its own resources to establish a method and model that produces reliable data and predictive outcomes for decision-makers, and is independent of vendor, association, or industry influences. Specific services available include: Forecasting to determine prices/selling points on fuels production; technology validation and independent review of vendor proposals; full-service feasibility analysis including comprehensive life-cycle evaluations for production enterprises; and syndicated research such as specially designed business intelligence reports. Taking a life-cycle, cradle-to-grave approach to renewable biofuels can support rational, long-term policymaking and investment that will help the nation address concerns about climate change and energy security. Noblis’ model and decision-support tool encompasses a full range of agricultural, environmental, energy, and investment inputs and impacts.
