On Wednesday, May 27th, Noblis’ Health Innovation hosted a Health Information Technology (HIT) expert panel to discuss issues, opportunities, and critical success factors of adopting and implementing HIT at the national level. The discussion focused on exploring HIT strategies designed to blend technology, clinical processes, and quality standards to optimize patient-centered care.
Attendees consisted of key stakeholders from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the U.S. Army Health Facility Planning Agency (HFPA), the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA), Inova Health Systems, as well as other interested parties.
The expert panel included Charlene Underwood, Chair, the Electronic Health Record Vendor Association (EHRVA); Dr. Floyd Eisenberg, Senior Vice President, Health Information Technology for the National Quality Forum (NQF); and Rosemary Kennedy, RN, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, Siemens.
The panel and attendees expressed their appreciation to Noblis for the opportunity to exchange information on a topic that is integral to the transformation of healthcare delivery in the United States.
