Noblis Wins $5M NOAA NESDIS Award Under the Systems Engineering and Analyses Services (SEAS) Contract

Noblis to provide technology and program management support for the GOES-R weather satellite ground system project

FALLS CHURCH, Va.— July 20, 2013—Noblis, Inc., a leading provider of science, technology, and strategy services to the federal government, won a $5M award to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). This is the first option year for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R-Series (GOES-R) Program Ground Segment Project support under the $38M NESDIS Systems Engineering and Analysis Support (SEAS) contract awarded to Noblis in 2012.

NESDIS acquires and manages the nation's operational environmental satellites, operates the NOAA National Data Centers, provides data and information services including Earth system monitoring, performs official assessments of the environment, and conducts research.

Under this contract, Noblis will continue to provide systems engineering and program management support, modeling and simulation, telecommunications, and radio frequency expertise to build the ground system for one of NOAA’s geostationary weather satellite systems.

“We have a 30 year history of working with NOAA NESDIS and are pleased to be able to continue supporting their next generation environmental satellite systems,” said Don Schaefer, Vice President of Enterprise Engineering and Environmental Solutions, Noblis. “It is very exciting to be able to use so many of our company’s core science, technology, and engineering capabilities to support a program of such national significance.”
